How to power up the processor?

Hello.
I'm currently trying to build my own computer.
And in the process of looking at the power connectors, the question arose: how is it customary to power the processor now?
Mother: www.gigabyte.ru/products/page/mb/ga-z97x-socrev_10...
She has two connectors: 4 and 8 pins.
(page 28 from the specification: download1.gigabyte.ru/manual/mb_manual_ga-z97x-soc... )
And there is a power supply: https://www.overclockers.ru/lab/73139/obzor-i-test...
Photos of connectors: www.oldi.ru/upload/resaiz_images_catalog/big/102/7...
The only connector that I could find from him consists of two parts of 4 pins.
But. It seems that the shape of the connector does not match slightly (I'm not sure, because I looked at the instructions, not a piece of iron).
Actually, the questions are:
1. If the mother has two processor power connectors, for 4 and 8 pins, should they both be connected, or can one be used?
2. How to find the connector on the power supply that should power the processor?
3. Can I take half of the 8-pin connector and plug it into the 4-pin connector on the mother?
4. Is it possible to stick "polygonal" connectors into square ones? :) That is, some contacts are square with a chamfer. And hypothetically, they can be stuck in just a square mate;)
I marked the "suspicious" contact with an arrow in the picture:

There is also a screenshot from the description of the motherboard.
It is a special joy that some pictures on the Internet talk about eight-pin PCI connectors, which are very similar to the processor power supply (only they seem to be white and are not divided into two parts). For example: www.mitrey.ru/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/connectors.jpg
ZZY: Sorry for the confusion!

You have the pinout in the instructions, there is the color of the wires in the connectors, so combine them. Black - GND, yellow - + 12V. Voltage +12 does not depend on the shape of the connector :). More specifically, insert half of the 8-pin connector with 2 two square plugs into the 4-pin connector next to the processor socket. Everything will work if you do not overclock.

The mother is powered by the PSU via two harnesses: a 4-pin one for powering the processor
(12 volts, yellow and black wires) and a 24-pin one for everything else. On advanced motherboards, the connector for the first harness can also be 8-pin, in which case the 4-pin plug is plugged into the half of the 8-pin connector. Since the shape of the plastic insulation of these pins is curly, it will not work to stick it in the wrong way - this is foolproof. So try both options and leave the one that sticks. ( However, kondovy, a real fool can force the stick into the wrong position - after all, plastic, unlike metal, can be deformed, so do not apply excessive force! )
