How to play local file in HTML5 player?

There are wav files in the sounds directory. I'm trying to add their addresses as source for audio.
This whole thing is happening in Phonegap on the Windows Phone platform (ie, in fact, it is Internet Explorer).
Addresses like file:///www/sounds/bell.wav, file:///x-wmapp0:www/sounds/bell.wav, sounds/bell.wav don't work. In the latter case, the file is not found at all, but in the first two it gives "aborted". If you specify the url of another file or stream on the Internet instead of the file address, the player plays sound without problems.
How can you reproduce?
