How to play a short sound file on arduino?

Good day! I want to collect a stray for scoring a shot like on toy pistols / machine guns.
On arduino, because you want to be able to change the sound itself, the speed, and so on, maybe you can tweak something else. There is very little space, literally as wide as an arduino nano and about 20 cm long. Naturally, without taking into account the dynamics. I have a module for an SD card and an MP3 module on my hands, please tell me which speaker can be taken for these needs and approximately a sketch and a diagram, since I am starting to understand this matter.

It is not entirely clear what the CD card and MP3 module are for. In real life, everything is much simpler .
