If your browser doesn't have a module capable of handling application/pdf content , then no Flash will help you. Unless you're moving the book into application/x-shockwave-flash .
The easiest option is to simply link to the file. The user clicks and, if the module exists, the book will open in the browser. It is possible that there is no module in the browser, but its own application is registered for this type (browser or OS settings). It will start and allow you to show the PDF file.
