How to paste text into WebStorm tag wrapping dialog?

I fired up WebStorm, started typing, and then such an ambush!

I select a tag, open the tag wrapping dialog (Surround), try to paste the copied class name of the ".promo" type into the input field, and instead of drawing the selected tag to me, enclosed in
Experienced, I found that all versions starting from 17 inclusive have this cant. Now I'm using version 16, Surround works fine there.

Do I need to use some kind of intricate shortcut, or have the guys at JB irreversibly broken everything?

I don't use this feature, but it works great.
Please clarify what exactly is the problem. Maybe with screenshots.
