How to pass value to opencart?

In short, I have two modules. Single page cart module, and shipping module.
In the cart module, I count the weight of the cart (as needed) and I need to pass the value to the shipping module.
How to do it?
I tried through the classes, it did not work out.
I would be grateful for the help!
