How to pass PPPoE between SFP(optic) and copper port on Allied Telesis 8000S?
Hello.
I came across a piece of iron with which I have never worked and seems to be quite rare. Namely Allied Telesis 8000S/24. 24 copper ports and 2 SFP connectors.
Provider Rostelecom, point-to-point connection, PPPoE authorization.
For the sake of testing according to the optics scheme in SFP, SFP in Mikrotik, SPF and a copper port into one bridge, a twisted pair from a copper port to a laptop, I set up a PPPoE connection on the laptop = everything works.
How I want to implement: optics in SFP, SFP in Allied Telesis 8000s, SFP port in access mode in a separate vlan, on the copper port the same vlan is also in access mode, I connect a laptop to the copper port = does not work. PPPoE session does not rise. On a Win10 laptop, no error codes are shown. But this is hardly "691 Invalid username or password", because the first option passes authorization.
Unfortunately, there is no access to the switch now, I can’t give the config, but it is extremely simple.
Configured ports like this
config#vlan database
config#vlan 50
config#exit
config-if#interface ethernet e24
config-if#switchport access vlan 50
config-if#exit
config-if#interface ethernet g2
config-if#switchport access vlan 50
config -if#exit
On command #show int status
interface with optics is up. I did not look at the statistics on the interface. I had to leave already.
Maybe someone more experienced knows, maybe there is some kind of hitch in working with the SFP port on this switch (copper works fine in two different vlans, and this is the third vlan)?
