How to pass a link from the catalog.section.list component template to the catalog.element component?

I have a list of elements under each section in the component template. the element link should lead to detail.php where I have the catalog.element component. How do I pass a link to the catalog.element component

the link should be $arItem['DETAIL_PAGE_URL'], where $arItem is an array of a particular product from the section.
If you have CNC enabled, then there should not be any detail.php
