How to organize the distribution of the Internet from a laptop to a Wifi router?

There is a fairly simple task in principle:
USB wifi (tl-wn722n) -> notebook (Win8.1) -> router (TL-MR3020) -> iPad, iPhone, Windows Phone
So there is Internet on the laptop, I tried to share the Internet on the network connection to which the router is connected in Access Point mode, but the distribution through the router's wifi did not work.
I read on the Internet that in principle I do everything correctly, but for some reason nothing happens. I want to understand what the problem is and how it can be solved. If you need to read something, tell me, I'm not lazy before asking a question, I killed more than one day on this matter.
Thank you.

Standard scheme: cable from the provider -> router (wi-fi) -> tablets, iPhones and other wi-fi devices. As I understand it, you are receiving Internet from someone on the wafer to the laptop and want to let it go further. Then it will be easier to configure the repeater mode on your router, if it is there of course. Or on the laptop, set up the "bridge" mode from the waffle to the ethernet and connect the router via cable (masochism in its purest form).
Your whistle is able to Ad-Hoc / Infrastructure mode, so you can achieve Internet distribution directly from it.

It does not work, because the DHCP of the router assigns the router itself as the gateway for the iPad, but it should assign the laptop. Try manually setting the IP settings and specifying the laptop address as the gateway

Thanks for the answers, but so far I haven’t figured it out, maybe in a day I’ll reset everything and start over. It is also strange that even the Virtual Router program did not distribute the Internet from the laptop

Maybe I'll say something strange, but it's not easier to take a router and set up a repeater mode on it. And then one device will be responsible for the Internet.
The second option was written a little higher from the laptop with wires to the router.
Or more perversely: plug a whistle into the wifi router, put it on the openwrt router and make two networks, one bridge to the provider, the other to your devices. What can help if your equipment does not support repeater mode
