How to organize string trimming by finding a tag?

Hello World. I am writing a Flask blog for myself and the cut functionality has become necessary to shorten posts on the main page.
The task is purely Pythonic and it is as follows: Take a string from a variable and find the cut tag in it, if it is present, then cut it and the text after.
