How to organize remote access to the office file server for employees?

Hello. There is at me a task to organize remote access for employees of my office. Initially came up with a solution with OpenVPN. I found a portable OpenVPN for clients, set up a server under Linux, rolled up configs and made certificates. Everything seems to be fine, except that the program on the client has to be constantly run with administrator rights, so that the route is registered to the office network. But this is half the trouble. The rest of the trouble is how to make it easy to access the file server. Clients all naturally under Windows. If you run a script with mounting network drives via route-up, then it runs as an administrator user and network drives are naturally not visible to a regular user.
Making shortcuts and forcing users to constantly click on them is also somehow not nice, plus you can specify the login and password from the server in the script, which you can’t do through the shortcut.
Can anyone find any solution? Please share at least ideas how to make everything transparent to the user?
