How to organize product types in Drupal 7 Commerce?

Let's say there are 3 types of goods and the attributes necessary for it:
1) hammers (attributes: dimensions, weight, wooden handle (yes), for installation work (yes) ...);
2) irons (weight, power, steam (yes), non-stick coating (no), wire length...);
3) sofas (dimensions, folding (yes), leather (no)...).
When buying, the choice of product modification is not implied, that is, each product is a completely separate product. But criteria for filtering products in categories are necessary.
Actually, the question is how to organize a store: 1) use one type of product (article, name, price) and different types of product presentation materials with an appropriate set of fields; 2) three product types with their own set of fields and one material view for all product types?
Thank you.

The second option is more versatile - in the future you won't have to change the site settings when adding product types.
