How to organize PC accounting so that spare parts are not stolen?

The Institute keeps records of computers by inventory numbers. But some of the non-working computers disappear processors, memory, video cards. Are there any ways to prevent the theft of components and tie it to accounting for accounting?

@endemic

prevent theft of components

and
completely different things
in the first: put kensingtons on a PC so that they don’t insolently drag them away and close access to the system unit in any way.
on the second: OCS inventory, spiceworks and some more. the good old excel with unloading in 1C has not been canceled either

At work, I made identifiers on self-adhesive paper according to this article:
Identifiers for the inventory of IT equipment ...
More options from habr:
Inventory of office equipment
How to and how not to take inventory
Operation Inventory
For the accounting itself, you can use:
Paid:
Free:
Enter, for example, regulations:

Well, use a control system, such as Nagios .

Seal the joints of the hulls with tricky stickers, and describe the hulls in detail in the inventory. Register access to the warehouse with system specialists. Periodically conduct an inventory with inspection of the integrity of the stickers.
