How to organize parallel learning of languages and writing an application?

I am a first year student. We study si. Not very fast. They give a lot of uninteresting tasks on the same topic. The idea of an interesting project for android has ripened, but it needs Java, which I know a little about (loops, arrays, the basic concepts of OOP - a class, an object). There is no work experience / projects (I used to make up quite well). The project is purely for myself. An app would be very useful every day.
Is it worth it to rush to Java and C at the same time, or to learn C more persistently, and postpone the project for the summer, so as not to create a mess in your head?
I suppose, due to the si-like nature of Java, it will not be easy to switch from one to another. If it is possible to learn 2 languages productively, how should the process be organized?

Just try? Everything depends on you.
To this topic:
And remember the linguists who immediately learn 2 languages in a new one - Arabic and French, for example, which are completely different.
