How to organize git work with branches?

In general, I like git-flow, but I think it’s not suitable for us in style: today we urgently need to make a release with
FEATURES features - make a version? Or do it with a hotfix? Can this be simplified? Gitlab also requires a merge-request every time. And I would like it to immediately fall into the branch.

merge-request is done mainly for code review, if you have one branch then maybe you don't need git-flow ?
