How to organize api by client-server type?

Everything is clear with the API: I take Laravel, I prescribe routing, and so on.
It is not entirely clear how to issue tokens, authorize users with their help, and so on. The very principle of working with the API is not clear. The client will be written for Android.
Is there an article on my question? All I have found are simple api examples that do not implement the process of issuing tokens.
