How to organize an automatic and imperceptible for the user backup to the server?

The data is stored on an external server, to which we connect via samba via VPN. Due to the fact that the Internet channel is so-so, working with an external server causes inconvenience - delays in opening files, long copying.
I want to make a shared folder on one of the computers as a common work folder, and then in the evening, before finishing work from this computer, synchronize the data with the server. Ideally, it should look like Windows updates when the computer is turned off - it connects itself via VPN, checks, uploads and then turns off the computer after itself.
Are there any out-of-the-box solutions for this? Win7 computers.
