How to organize a server at home for developing and launching projects?
Greetings! I'm a web developer writing sites in PHP and recently ran into a problem with insufficient memory on my Macbook (you can't add more memory). I thought about the decision to put a server at home, so that I could deploy projects on Ubuntu, etc. and have access to them via ssh and through a browser through some domain that will be available only at home when connected to this network via WI-FI. I wanted to ask the connoisseurs how to do it all better, what to buy?
The most basic thing is: the ability to run projects directly on the server and have access to them via wi-fi. thanks in advance

Well, you assemble a mini-pc, take a disk of the required volume (2pcs)
Put ubuntu on it and that's it

Starting a separate piece of iron for such things on your scale is not very optimal, including in terms of cost. I see VDS at any normal hosting as a more preferable option. You can restrict access only from home using a VPN.
And what is the question?
You buy a system unit with the parameters you need, put Ubuntu there, on a poppy in hosts add entries of the sites you need.
