ИП-камеры от d-link идут вместе с софтом, при помощи которого можно настроить как просмотр, так и сохранение видео. В комплекте также приложения для мобил, чтобы просматривать удаленно.
Софт виндовый, ставится на любые окна.
Если расстояние большое (как в вашем случае), то вероятно потребуется камера с хорошим разрешением, ценник может быть в районе 15-25.
Одна проблема - на улицу не вывесить камеру (по понятным причинам), а за окном - может быть не всегда хорошая картинка...

Сверху, то есть кто-то прошелся или просто что-то прилетело.

Ну, скажем, записала бы камера, как проходящий мимо молодой человек в капюшоне запрыгнул на капот, и пошел дальше. И что? Никаких примет для розыска и опознания.
Нужна камера с длиннофокусным светосильным объективом и хорошим разрешением, чтобы получить нормальную картинку не только днем, но и ночью.
Получится совсем не дешево для удовлетворения любопытства. Ни о каких защитных функциях и речи нет - получите прощальный снимок своей ласточки, если ее угонят, и всё...
