How to optimize images in webpack?

Good day. I need to optimize images, webpack. I went through several options: imagemin webpack plugin, just imagemin, imagemin with webpi, something else, I don’t remember anymore, I got confused, in different configurations, nothing works (there are no errors in the console, the cards are copied, the file size just does not change) Tell me , what configuration is better to use or what plugins, maybe do it manually? I heard the opinion that webpack does a poor job of optimizing images.
