How to optimize image in laravel?

Good afternoon!
I use laravel-image-optimizer to optimize images in Laravel.
I installed it as per the instructions, everything supposedly works, I use ImageOptimizer::optimize($pathToImage, $pathToOptimizedImage);
2 image that should be optimized saves, but does not optimize anything, weighs the same as the original, is no different. Judging by the custom settings, the optimized image should shrink by 85%, but this does not happen.
Who knows why the picture is not compressed?
