Skype 5.8.0.1027 @ Mac OS X, ~/Library/Application Support/Skype/%account%/main.db, Messages table (SQLite, screenshot )
The same bullshit on Linux. Well, I really didn’t wait so long, I turned off Skype. And how is Skype generally used as a corporate messenger? In jabber, I often wool history for several years - and everything is fine.
Well, what about the SSD? It seems to be stored distributed on the network ...
Apparently it's only on Macs. I open normally for several years, PC.
I installed 10.8 from scratch, about a month and a half ago (i5 2400/16gb ram/128gb ssd). Now I downloaded a history for 3 months somewhere in 15-20 seconds with a terrible adsl Internet at 5mb / s.
So dig for yourself.
10.6.8 to 10.7 to 10.7.2 to 10.7.4 migrate, MacBook 4.1 2008, Skype story with tons of flooding in personal correspondence and a million tons of flooding in group chat per year open in 30-40 seconds.
1) look in the settings for what period of history storage
2) if it’s endless, then just leave Skype on and go about your business, maybe even in a day, but the whole story will come.
3) so click (if not clicked) the previous messages. Perhaps they have loaded, but are not displayed if the last message was more than 2 weeks ago
