How to nest 3D objects in Illustrator?

With the help of the effect "3D image" - "Extrusion and bevel" I got 2 pipes: short and long.
Is it possible to nest a long pipe inside a short one? The pictures show the problem, if it is not clear what it is about. 801d469cdc344b5189908d906db339cb.PNG
This means methods without applying masks and cutting objects. So that the pipes are not edited additionally.

Cut out the mask in the red object to hide the part of it that should be covered by the blue.
The second option, cut the red into two parts. The one that should be on the background and the one that overlaps the blue.

As an option, make an extrude along two circles, inner and outer.
