How to negotiate with management when renewing a contract?
Inspired by the post, but my situation is the opposite:

The contract ends soon. First job (almost 5 years), I am satisfied with the company, the project is interesting, there are still opportunities for growth, the average salary for the market.
Is it worth spending time going to social security if I'm de facto going to stay? How to negotiate with management and raise your price? What should I count on and how should I behave if at the moment I am an important part of the project/team? Probably noob questions, but any experience is curious.

A big topic, it’s worth google, there are various specific techniques and tips for preparing for a conversation with a manager. At the request “how to talk about a promotion” (which is basically the same as renewing a contract on better terms in your case), there are a lot of sensible articles. There, too, everything is a concrete experience.
And without the details, it's still not much to advise anything ...
