When copying a layer to another document, the layer will initially be displayed in the place where it was originally. And if the size of the document to which the duplicate layer was copied is smaller, then it is not visible.
The question is how to display this layer?

Drag the copied layer from the document to the document with the mouse, it will be copied to the place where you drag it.
