How to manage HP D2600?

I got myself an HP D2600. In fact, this is my first experience with storage systems, so I can be stupid in simple things. I was completely sure that it is configured via the web interface, but it turned out that the controller did not have an RJ-45 port at all, but some kind of 10-pin one. The mana says that HP SIM is used for management, but on the download page there are only for AIX, Windows and Linux, but what if it's on an ESXi host?
Please advise me on these issues.

Is HP D2600 a storage system? it's just a disk shelf with a SAS extender.. there is no controller to manage it.
you still need to buy the storage system itself, which is a thread like the HP MSA P2000 G3 and add a shelf to it. either just take the server and buy an HP RAID controller compatible with that shelf and see those drives there.
