How to make the video card work at full power in a laptop?
Hello everyone,
on September 11, I bought an Asus tuf gaming fx 505DT laptop. The problem is that when I play games, my video card is not loaded at 100%, and the processor works at 70-80%. I tried all the methods that I found on the Internet, like: "go to the screen settings and set the priority to the video card." I would like to play games with stable 80-90 fps. I suspect that there is not enough RAM. In the game Grand Theft Auto V, when driving around the city, 45-60 fps, with micro freezes.
My config:
CPU : Ryzen 5 3550H
RAM : 8gb DDR4
Video card: GTX 1650 4gb
Windows 10 Pro x64

The words "laptop" and "gaming" should not be in the same sentence.
A laptop is always a compromise between energy, weight and performance. Modern games do not tolerate compromises.
See if all 16 PCI-E lanes are enabled for your graphics card. This can be done in the nvidia dock.
I doubt that the gtx 1650 on the desktop will show the best result, a maximum of + 5-7 frames. GTA5 on videos at times more expensive gives 100-120 frames, and it makes sense to wait for 80-90 on a 60Hz screen. PS Modern laptops are very playful, and they lose insignificantly to desktop ones in games, only because of the lowered gpu frequencies.
