How to make the simplest background for an application?

good afternoon, I need to write a thesis
, I have a code that I once did for a test task (an order processing application), so I would use it, an application on React & Redux,
the difficulty is that I am a frontend with little I don’t have much experience in the backend either, for that test application an API was provided,
in general, I need some kind of simple solution for the server and database, literally “on the knee”, so that the API returns data suitable for my code.
I would order on freelance so that it somehow works (I will sign my front part in the diploma, but I also need to say something about the rest).
the question is what is the simplest and how much is it in terms of labor costs.
