There is a site, it has a gallery (viewing a picture), but the pictures take a long time to load, from top to bottom, because the resolution of the picture is large, it gets on your nerves. I look, for example, in VK the same picture or popular sites, the same size, so it loads faster, much more!
Why is that? Is there any way to speed up the loading of the image?

We are dealing with the most common mistake - when they stuff images without resizing / proper compression into Jpeg. Or their server is slow to give, which is unlikely.
