How to make money with your browser extension?

Goodnight!
I read a similar question: How do the creators of extensions for Google Chrome earn?
But I still have ambiguities. For example, what advertising services can I use to embed it through my plugin? I have a small plugin that I wrote for myself, but there is little demand for it, because. I don’t really want to distribute for free (at least earn money for work), then I want to get at least some profit from it. Who developed plugins, how did you start making money on them?

I made a plugin that downloads files using links on the page. To speed up surfing.
The plugin has proven to be popular.
Then the security service came to find out how some secret files had been cached on the department's internal network.
Advertising is even worse. 46% of users use ad cutters and spam filters to save traffic. Those clients who show the most banners, filters are automatically adjusted for them.
Your advertiser is watching that you are generating traffic, but users don’t see ads, and you and your plugin are put on the list that you don’t need to show ads. And your program instead of advertising shows a stub.
And you look at the indicators - people download the plugin, but it does not show ads anymore. And why - and there is no one to ask.

See examples of other plugins.
Some are asking for donations.
Other advertisements are shown.
Some offer paid services (adblock white list, for example)
Some of them don't seem to be monetized at all, but the line in the resume "lead developer of the KnownName plugin" is probably worth something.

Ads need to be shown somewhere.
0. It is forbidden to embed your ads in the page.
1. Opening a page of your site from the extension with ads spinning on it, if the extension opens its own tab in the browser.
2. If there is a popup extension window when clicking on the icon, then embed a banner loaded via IFrame from your site. A gray path, as advertisers approve banners for the site, not for the extension.
In both options, you need to have a site approved by the advertising system.
3. Donate via Paypal with a link in the popup window. If users are mainly from Europe / USA, and the audience of the extension is constantly and well growing, then you will collect a couple of cups of coffee per month).
3. Work with a partner network. I know only one (who knows other similar networks, also throw a link in the comments): mixmarket.biz , but I have been working with it for a very long time. To expand, you need to use Deep Link ( mixmarket.biz/webmasters/faq/uni/), then you can do without your site.
