How to make Dual Boot (Pre-installed Windows 8 + Linux)?

Windows 8 is installed on the laptop. It is necessary to install Linux (for example, Ubuntu) next to it, with the ability to select a system when booting. The problem is that it costs UEFI. I tried it a couple of months ago, as a result, either the Windows 8 bootloader was immediately turned on, or grub was loaded, which was unable to cope with loading Windows 8. At that time, wherever I read, they wrote everywhere that you need to demolish Windows 8 and install some in a certain way, only then can you put Linux next to it.
I hope that from that moment there were options for solving this problem. Can you please tell me what is the easiest way to do this?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Everything turned out to be very simple. The latest version of Ubuntu has EFI support. If installed in automatic mode ("install next to other systems"), then it is able to resolve all problems on its own.
