How to make DLE category selection without page refresh?

People help pliz. There is a place on the screen on the right, I already have in the code that there is a sorting by categories on the nav panel, I want those categories to appear on the white empty field on the right that are on the points on the map and preferably without refreshing the page. So far, I just made it so that when you hover over a dot, a window appears with the category and how much news is in this category, but this is all a lot of unnecessary actions.
