How to make archlinux friends with nodejs?

There was no sadness updates pumped up

1. Updated arch - nodejs broke (no old versions of the lib needed)
2. Updated nodejs to 7 - old projects that need to be supported do not start (because there is no internal / fs)
3. Rolled back the node and system packages that it needs to work , now pacman doesn't work, virtualbox/vagrant nautilus and who the hell knows how much more (error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.58)
Now I need to boot from liveusb arch and fix the system, install new libs, which will take me back to step 2.
What do you advise?
UPD:
I can switch between nodejs versions, but I can't safely switch between libicui18n.so versions The
system needs libicui18n.so.58 - stable 5-6th node - libicui18n.so.57
In addition to ICU (libicui18n) the same garbage c lib_http_parser.
Now I rebooted, fixed the system from the arch-flash drive .. but now I can’t start old projects ...
So far I see the only option is to use virtualbox or docker to build old projects .. and maybe even better somewhere in the cloud ..
