How to make an old iPad2 work with home Wi-Fi?

My father threw me his old iPad2, saying that he did not contact the home network. I thought that disassembling and replacing the module was the easiest solution, but it turned out not to be the problem. In the Moscow metro I got hooked on the first try. The distribution of the network from the iPhone 7 Plus also ended in success. No way at home. It clings to the router and that's it, zero emotions - it does not open the page. And everything can work for a minute, then the icon is on, and the browser orders to live for a long time. Router TP-LINK TL-WR940N (as you know, the N series). iPad similarly supports 802.11n. Thank you saviors gurus!

So maybe it's not the iPad? For starters, you can try to flash the router with fresh firmware. I remember that with (d,tp)-links this often solved all the strange network problems...

First, remove the password from WiFi.
Try to connect to the network without a password. They have a lot of problems with encryption algorithms.
Then update the firmware.
