How to make a temporary domain for a host?

Ubuntu server has ISP lite installed.
When creating a domain, you can only specify a name that will be the name of the main domain and aliases that will only work as a redirect.
Thus, I have to create a host with the correct domain in advance, which will be used when working with the site.
But what if the domain changes later? often at the beginning of work you need something like dev-site.ru, and after launching site.ru
How can you solve the problem of binding different domains to a host?

The easiest option is to use domain aliases.
For example, a developer takes his own domain webdev.ru
Then he creates a separate account and subdomain client1.webdev.ru
When the development process is completed, we assign an alias client1.ru to the domain client1.webdev.ru
And so several times.
The disadvantage of this method is that after connecting the main domain, the development version of the site cannot be used for testing. And there and there will be shown changes.
