How to make a subdomain?

There is a domain name. Somewhere the site is spinning. There is a management of its dns-records (I can get confused in terminology).
There is an office network with a white ip towards the Internet, behind a router, I want to make one machine on Linux as a subdomain of some.site.ru, i.e. for the grid and for remote clients.

How to do it? Looking towards the A-record?

Well, yes, add an A-record, name = your_subdomain, address = the desired IP address.

Don't forget to forward port 80 on your router!
