How to make a smartphone IP camera a PC webcam?
Good day to all.
We have a regular PC running Ubuntu 18.04 and an old Android smartphone. The IP Webcam application was installed on the smartphone and a "portable wi-fi hotspot" was created. A computer that connects to a hotspot created by a smartphone. Then, in the address chrome, I enter the address generated by the application, such as 192.168.43.1:8080 , and I see the stream from the smartphone's camera + interface with settings.
Now, I want to use this camera as my work PC's main webcam.
I want to make it work like a regular usb camera, which I will stream from the Upwork tracker and Google Chrome.
Both applications are now telling me that they do not see any camera, which is actually logical. However, I can't think of a single Google query that would help me in my searches. Is it even possible what I want and, if so, can you send links to manuals or keywords for Google?
