How to make a shadow for an icon?

Hello !
Dear developers, I'm starting to make up a free layout, for the sake of experience and testing my skills. And there was a stupor with shadows at the icons. Please tell me how can this be done? More precisely, how most "correctly" to implement it. I myself think to dig in the direction of the icon font, or svg, but I have not yet come across either one or the other .. I ask for your help!

Fuck guys it's not funny. Are you working together or doing an internship?
What is the best way to make such a shadow?
And everything is done simply: you transform the block with a gradient and push it into a relative container with an icon
