How to make a separate partition for Timeshift backups?

Hello!

I am learning Linux. How to make a separate partition for system backups? How to do it right? Which file system format to choose? I have one SSD, I use Manjaro as OS. Right now I have one partition for everything. There is an option to both bite off a place on the fly (if possible), or I can reinstall the system and correctly partition the disk for all this in advance, just tell me how to do it. I would be grateful for any of your advice and materials!

1. Why a separate partition, why is a separate directory bad?
2. The partition can be made fdisk or gparted if there is space. You can take a bite on the fly either by booting from the disk recovery and using some kind of gparted thread or other software for working with partitions. Or if initially everything was
3 in LVM. For Linux, use the standard ext4 until you clearly understand why you need something else.
