On the indicated screen, the desktop environment that comes with ubuntu is not at all the same. That's exactly what you won't do. At most, there will be several system tray indicators on the top of the panel. Application management is carried out using a regular dock, or install a custom one. In any case, there will be another panel on the side/bottom.
If you need everything to be on one panel, change the environment. On the screen, in general, like XFCE. You can put it in parallel and select it when logging in. It's easy to do it there.
