How to make a mask from another layer?

There are two cameras in the scene, one renders a room with a set of objects in one layer, the other only one special object inside this room in another layer. The problem is that when choosing depths from cameras, the object is rendered either always on top of the room and all other objects in it, or always behind the room. What to do?
