How to make a laptop adapter with one headphone/microphone jack?

Greetings!
The girl has a laptop: ASUS F552C.
The problem is that it has only one headphone and microphone jack. To be honest, it surprised me a little.

I read that you can just buy an adapter from 4-pin to 2x3-pin 3.5 Jack and easily connect headphones and a microphone as a headset.
There was no adapter available, and it costs 100-150 rubles. I bought parts separately for 60r. Collected.

Does not work. There is sound, but the microphone is not.
Tried to connect the headset from the phone. Also.
How to be? Maybe it doesn't need to be connected?
