How to make a copy of a printed book?

Hello. It is required to make a copy of the printed book in A5 format. After scanning the pages, there is a need for a tool for editing pages, namely their cutting and gluing (2 pages per A4 sheet). There is also a need to increase the space in the binding area (to bind a new book). What tools can be used to do this?
I found the Kromsator program, but the interface is too complicated, and in general the whole process. Thanks

If you scanned one sheet at a time, then it's easier to convert to pdf and print with adobe reader there is an option "printing a brochure" in foxit reader there is also one.
