How to link two TP-LINK WR941ND routers?
Hello.
The following task arose: It is
necessary to distribute the Internet to a 4-storey building. A twisted pair cable enters the house in one place, in the basement of the building (-1 floor). No one will allow her to be dragged further around the house.
Now everything works like this:
In the base Tp link wr941nd and that's it. The Internet is hardly enough for the basement and first floor.
I want it to work like this:
On the ground floor, additionally install wr941nd (a bridge with a router in the basement, via wi-fi), with 8 dB antennas. According to the idea, he should close the first and second floor + courtyard. And on the third floor, additionally plug an amplifier into the outlet.
Question actually 2:
1. How do you like the idea?
2. How to make wr941nd work as a wifi bridge with my brother?
Thank you.

For those who are faced with a similar problem:
My result: if possible, it is better to connect all access points through a twisted pair cable, 1 pc each. per floor (depending on S and the number of connected devices).
If there is no possibility to extend the twisted pair cable (my case), the scheme of work described above works quite well. Speed losses are acceptable. In my case, wr941nd (with 8db antennas) covered 2 floors of the house (120 sq.m.) and part of the yard (2 acres), connected at the same time (WDS tutorial on how to connect routers via wi-fi ) with a router located on the floor below. The speed loss on it was 50% (in my case, up to 30 MB) - this speed is enough for comfortable home use. The 3rd floor perfectly fed the tp-link repeater (I recommend) with the Internet, the speed on it was 5 mb.
In general, everything works stably, the speed suits. Thanks to all.
How do you like the idea?No way.
This is what you described - this is in a simplified form what they call Mesh networks , and one of the most fashionable trends (last 1-2 years) for "netting" hotels, places of entertainment, etc. (especially abroad).
Look at the link - there are a number of already specialized software projects (many of them are free) for organizing such networks (by the way, TpLink wr841 and wr941nd are just the models that they like to reflash for these purposes).
The idea is shit. You are shooting yourself in the foot.
That's what you need, it's called WDS - How to configure the WDS function on TP-LINK routers that support the 11n standard?
It's so naive. :(
