How to legally obtain shares of a foreign company?

For the first time they offered shares of a foreign project in exchange for the work performed. Unfortunately, I am a complete layman in this. Please help to understand:
1) How are shares transferred (not by mail they will be sent)?
2) What difficulties may arise with the Russian legislation?
3) What taxes and paperwork do I need to pay / provide in Russia?
Thank you.
UPD. Let me explain that I was offered not to buy shares, but to receive a share, as a developer.

Provision of shares on account of work performed is a common practice of Western companies regarding high-value employees.
Firstly: you don’t have to pay real money, which is always not enough at the start,
and secondly: you get an employee or partner motivated for success for free.
There are also schemes of pure deception, but here it is necessary to look individually.
As a rule, shares are issued in non-documentary form and are kept in the form of records in depositories. There are depositories with a high level of rating and high trust, there are also left-wing "depositories" that are created for one fraudulent operation.
Those. the transfer of shares for you will mean that a record about you as the owner of the shares will be made in the depository authorized by the company, about which you will need to be notified accordingly.
Everything is simple here.
But with taxes and legalization - there are certain points that it is desirable to understand in advance.
Here is not to describe. There are few places :-)
My advice is to contact some major broker in your city "Finam", or "BCS" or "Opening", there are not so many of them. For a bottle of beer, the guys will give you an hour and tell you everything, or maybe they will offer their services in stock management.

If you are a layman in this, then maybe you should not take shares? We need to study the company, the financial statement, whether it will go bankrupt, the policy of the company, whether these shares can be sold, and a lot of things. And remember: "The one who sells stocks always knows more about them than you. That's why he sells."
