How to learn to draw?

I like the process and the result of creating cartoons, but I want to draw something other than stickmen, so I need a drawing course / book for beginner and intermediate levels. (of course I can draw an even circle, but this is where the drawing skills end) :)

The most important rule: do not trace or draw out each initial stroke, lightly go through making the outlines of the object and also lightly then apply its details from above, so layer by layer then pressing harder
Draw in general stages, layering like layers of transparent oilcloth with drawings on top, with outlines and guides that you will then erase:
Lines and ovals in perspective like a frame, google the word perspective and everything will immediately fall into place, this is the basis of what the basics say, without seeing the perspective in a separate layer, you cannot draw even elementary things beautifully, these outlines design it (P-woo .), for example, a shadow is the best and most primitive association for getting to know perspective, found in wildlife, it is completely based on its principles, on the removal of one object from another object. Practice first drawing a shadow from a ball, then from a cube, then from a flat triangle, then from a person with increasing light intensity (the stronger the light, the more accurate the outline of the shadow will be). Isometric and projection keeping distance. It is better for an adult to first learn to draw by hand with isometry, and then draw, and not vice versa. Bring beauty and details at the end. A good professional knows how to do without these guides, but if the opportunity allows him, he will always draw them.

I think you need to start with the classical study of drawing.
