How to learn Java Core?
I started by reading the book "Java SE 8. Basic Course. Kay S. Horstmann", but on the first day I noticed that in newer versions of Java there are many important innovations. Can you suggest books that are written with newer versions of Java in mind? Or is it worth going through the basics using the 8th version as an example, and then catch up with the innovations of more recent versions? Is there a better way to learn Java than books?
(I have little experience in learning other languages, not quite a "teapot")
