How to launch an associated application when clicking on a QR code?

The site has a QR business card. It is clear that using the smartphone's camera, you can immediately send / save it to Contacts. I would like that when viewing the site on a mobile device, by clicking on the picture with a QR code, an associated application is launched, which also allows you to save a business card. Is that possible?
