How to join the modern CSS milestone?

This article , as it were, hints that many old solutions can be thrown into the trash, and there are many such articles. Layout has long ceased to be based on tables and various crutches such as the float property, not everyone needs to think about the compatibility of different browsers and with IE either. Actually, the question is: what modern books/articles/courses about modern layout can you recommend?
PS Yes, I can already see how a link to the CSS3 documentation will be thrown in minutes, but the fact of the matter is that my knowledge is very abrupt, and my code resembles a chimera, where flexbox can get along with obsolete or redundant solutions. Therefore, I am talking about a more capacious and comprehensive step-by-step guide.

There is no more comprehensive step-by-step guide than practice.
If nothing better fits a specific task than "obsolete or redundant solutions" - then it is the right solution.
Well , there is no such book called "There are only new and exceptionally correct layout variations in 2021 for dummies."
Everyone has the same base. And if you just want to be in the topic of all the new products, then monitor the latest / popular frameworks and suck on them.

flexbox can live with obsolete or redundant solutions

This does not mean that it will be wrong and a fullstack will come to your house and hit the hat ...
Someone still hasn't gone further than CSS3 of the 12th year. Someone is still using photoshop CS3 and nothing.
