How to isolate a group without double clicking on the object?

Or, how to select an object if it lies behind another object?

Or, how to select an object if it lies behind another object?

An object under another object can be selected with the cursor while holding down Ctrl.
Only there everything is topsy-turvy. If you need to select exactly the object, then initially you need to select the Selection Tool (V, black arrow), so that when you hold down Ctrl, it switches to the Direct Selection Tool (A, white arrow) - in this case, groups are ignored, objects are selected. If you need to select a group lying under other objects, then select the Direct Selection Tool, hold down Ctrl, you can select the entire underlying groups with a black arrow.

There is a Layers tab, where all objects are listed. But this is obvious and not always convenient for fast work.
I prefer to just lock all layers that should not fall under the selection, each through Cmd (Ctrl) + 2 or "All overlay" through the menu
. Through Alt + Cmd (Ctrl) + 2, "Lock" is removed from all layers.
